TFS Installation alongside sharepoint

We are trying to set up Team Foundation Server. We already have a test
environment set up but now we need to get it into production. Our idea
was to install TFS as a site on our existing sharepoint server. I have
been advised that there is a high chance that our existing sharepoint
sites will be removed when TFS installs.

Should we be installing TFS to run alongside existing sharepoint sites
or do we need to install it on a dedicated server (not sure how this
affects licencing?)

Any help would be most appreciated,

Thanks

You can select not to install WSS when installing TFS, but instead use an
existing SP webapp. An explanation of how to do this can be found at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/teamsystem/cc307885.aspx#sharepoint

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
