Hi,

I'm using MOSS 2007, w/ a SQL 2005 backend. I have a question about
security and granting access. I know how to set up groups with different
permissions, which allow/prevent users from performing certain tasks.

I'm less clear about restricting accss to sub-sites, pages, and even web
parts. Is there a primer/tutorial out there which can provide some guidance
on how I can best set this up.

To provide a specifc example: I have a site for a company. This company
has three departments, A, B, and C, each with it's own page/sub-site. What
is the technique for allowing Dept A members to ONLY see Dept A info,
blocking their access to Depts B & C?

Thanks for your help with this. I know that it's do-able, and I know it's
probably even simple, but am looking for the cleanest way to set this up.

Thanks All,
Keith

It is pretty standard security.

You make GroupA, GroupB, and GroupC and you grant or deny each group access
to each sub site. You can use security down to the list level.
